Ideas which I hope will form cohesion into a solid story one of these days.
I have a first draft fully written, the skeleton of a second book plotted out, and enough world-building to inform the cleanup of both.
This world involves many of the aesthetic elements I love most in fiction, and this first duology carries a theme near and dear to my heart.
The aesthetics involve:
The theme, meanwhile, has much to do with the tempting gilded cage of escapism, overwhelming guilt for things you had no control over, and finding the resolve to keep walking on despite it all.
I hope to post these stories chapter by chapter as I clean my first draft up into a more coherent second. There will be illustrations to go along with the chapters, and I may even post scans of some of the original pages of the first draft. It was all written within a single notebook by hand, and is a mess. But it is my mess, and I love it dearly.
Someday, in the perhaps far distant future, a polished third draft may be published. But that is the stuff of dreams and myth as of now, so we shall have to wait and see.
I hope you will join me for a time, here in the forest.
Welcome.
